Had to chime in to say for me, without doubt, it's also 1) friends, and 2) sharing (both ways); unlike you, I still haven't caught up with much past the 60s, BUT without the Forum, I never would have reconnected with the DEAD, nor with CREAM (to provide one example somewhat like yours...). I benefited greatly from the LEGAL sharing (per
Rob's reminder post), and just general friendships that developed.

And, I have to admit, I love chatting about the nonDEAD stuff (though distasteful to many here--I am sorry for that) as I may have learned almost as much on some of those nonDEAD fronts, or at least refined my take by babbling about it...much as my confused posts might suggest otherwise.
